Concerns the sanctions imposed on the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya over the Lockerbie case, and requests the Security Council to send a representative of the Secretary-General to Libyan Arab Jamahiriya to evaluate the economic and humanitarian situation caused by the embargo, to accept that the 2 Libyan suspects should be tried by an impartial court, to lift the sanctions imposed on Libyan Arab Jamahiriya and to authorize the holding of a formal meeting of the Security Council under Article 31 of the UN Charter.
