Statement made on behalf of the Security Council, at the 3753rd meeting, 19 Mar. 1997, in connection with prior consultations held among Council members on the item entitled "The situation in Croatia"; expresses concern over the insecure living conditions of Croatian Serbs throughout the areas in the former Sectors West, North and South and the progress with regard to the return of displaced persons and refugees; calls upon the Government of Croatia to restore a climate of law and order, to accelerate its efforts to improve conditions of personal and economic security, to remove uncertainty about the implementation of its amnesty law and to put an end to arbitrary arrests / President, Security Council.
