Informs, with regard to the Russian Mars 96 probe which fell in the South-East Pacific Ocean area, that in accordance with new data available to the Government of Chile, debris or material from the probe are believed to have fallen in the Chilean continental territory in an area along an approximately 50 miles wide and 200 miles long path oriented southwest to northeast, centered approximately 20 nautical miles east of the Chilean city of Iquique.
