Decides to extend the present mandate of UNIFIL for a further period of 6 months, that is until 31 July 1996; re-emphasizes the terms of reference and general guidelines of the Force as stated in the report of the Secretary-General of 19 Mar. 1978 (S/12611), approved by resolution 426 (1978); welcomes the streamlining of the Force described in the report of the Secretary-General of 22 Jan. 1996, and stresses the need to continue efforts to achieve further savings by rationalizing the administrative and support services of the Force, provided they do not affect its operational capacity.
