Summary
Welcomes the proposals of the coordination meeting of focal points of UN and OIC to strengthen cooperation between the 2 organizations in a number of different areas and to review the ways and means for enhancing the actual mechanisms of such cooperation; welcomes further the periodic high-level meetings between the 2 organizations; encourages the specialized agencies and other organizations of the UN system to continue to expand their cooperation with OIC, particularly by negotiating cooperation agreements, and invites them to multiply the contacts and meetings of the focal points in priority areas of interest to the 2 organizations; urges the organizations of the UN system, especially the lead agencies, to provide increased technical and other forms of assistance to OIC and its specialized institutions in order to enhance cooperation.
