摘要
Agrees that a multinational operation may be set up for humanitarian purposes in Rwanda until UNAMIR is brought up to the necessary strength; welcomes the offer by Member States to cooperate with the Secretary-General through establishment of a temporary operation under national command and control aimed at contributing, to the security and protection of displaced persons, refugees and civilians at risk on the understanding that the costs of implementation will be borne by the Member States concerned; decides that the mission will be limited to a period of 2 months; requests the Secretary-General to identify essential equipment required by the expanded UNAMIR and calls on Member States to offer such support; demands that all parties to the conflict immediately bring to an end all killings of civilians in areas under their control and allow Member States cooperating with the Secretary-General to implement fully their mission; requests the States concerned and the Secretary-General to report to the Council no later than 15 days after adoption of this resolution, on its implementation and requests the Secretary-General to report on the progress of deployment of the expanded UNAMIR and on progress towards a political settlement under the Arusha Peace Agreement.
