Резюме
Appeals to the international community to continue to extend assistance to the front-line States and other neighbouring States of southern Africa to enable them to overcome the negative consequences of past acts of destabilization in the region; strongly urges the international community to continue to provide, in a timely and effective manner, the financial, material and technical assistance necessary to enhance the individual and collective capacity of the front-line States and other neighbouring States in their efforts towards the reconstruction, rehabilitation and development of their economies; welcomes the recent positive political developments in Angola, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa; calls upon the Government of Angola and the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola to adhere to the provisions of the Lusaka Protocol; appeals to all States and appropriate intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations to support, in the context, inter alia, of the continuing drought in parts of the region, national and collective emergency programmes prepared by the front-line States and other neighbouring States to overcome their critical humanitarian and emergency problems, taking into account the special circumstances of the most affected countries; appeals to the international community to extend assistance to the front-line States and other neighbouring States in their efforts to advance the process of regional economic integration as envisaged in the Treaty of 17 Aug. 1992 establishing the Southern African Development Community, which now includes South Africa.
