Calls upon the administering Power to facilitate the admission of the British Virgin Islands to associate membership in FAO and in the Caribbean Community as well as its participation in other regional and international organizations as identified by the territorial Government; calls upon the administering Power to provide the necessary assistance to the Territory to develop and diversify its economy; urges the regional and international financial institutions, as well as the specialized agencies and other organizations of the UN system, to assist the Government of the British Virgin Islands in identifying its medium- and long-term needs and to increase their participation in the recovery and reconstruction of the Territory; notes with regret that a period of 15 years has elapsed since a UN mission visited the Territory.
