Summary
Calls upon the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties to invite the Secretary-General or his representative to all meetings of the Treaty parties, including their consultative meetings and the minerals régime negotiations; requests the Secretary-General to submit a report on his evaluations thereon to the General Assembly at its 43rd session; calls upon the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Parties to impose a moratorium on the negotiations to establish a minerals régime until such time as all members of the international community can participate fully in such negotiations; urges all States Members of the UN to co-operate with the Secretary-General and to continue consultations on all aspects relating to Antarctica.
