Review and implementation of the concluding document of the 12th special session of the General Assembly : resolutions / adopted by the General Assembly.

Decides to establish, as at 1 Jan. 1987, the UN Regional Centre for Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America, with headquarters at Lima, on the basis of existing resources and of voluntary contributions that Member States and interested organizations may take to that end; decides also that the Centre shall provide, on request, substantive support for the initiatives and other activities of the Member States of the Latin American region for the implementation of measures for peace and disarmament, and for the promotion of economic and social development through appropriate reutilization of available resources, and shall co-ordinate the implementation of regional activities in Latin America under the World Disarmament Campaign; requests the Secretary-General to take the necessary administrative measures to ensure the establishment and functioning of the Centre, including, to that end, the possible utilization of the existing UN infrastructure at Lima with a view to the full employment of available resources.
