Summary
Reaffirms the mandate given to the Committee; requests the Committee on Information, keeping in mind its mandate, to continue to seek the co-operation and active participation of all organizations of the UN System, particularly Unesco and the International Telecommunication Union, while taking all possible steps to avoid any overlapping of activities on this subject; reiterates its appeal to Member States, to the information and communication media, both public and private, as well as to nongovernmental organizations, to disseminate more widely objective and better balanced information about the activities of the UN; calls upon the Department of Public Information to continue to give its full support in promoting and publicizing the noble goals and accomplishments of the UN; requests the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its 41st session on the implementation of the resolution and of all the recommendations of the Committee on Information (text in annex to the resolution).
