Resúmen
Under Chapter VII of the Charter of UN, authorizes Member States to form a multinational force under unified command and control and to use all necessary means to facilitate the departure from Haiti of the military leadership, the prompt return of the legitimately elected President and legitimate authorities of the Government of Haiti, the cost of implementing this temporary operation to be borne by the participating Member States; approves establishment, of an advance team of UNMIH of not more than 60 personnel, to establish coordination with the multinational force and to prepare for deployment of UNMIH upon completion of the multinational force's mission; decides that the multinational force will terminate its mission and UNMIH will assume its functions described below when a secure and stable environment has been established, the determination to be made by the Security Council based on the assessment of the commander of the multinational force; decides to revise and extend the mandate of UNMIH for a period of 6 months to assist the democratic Government to: (a) sustain a stable environment, (b) professionalize the Haitian armed forces and create a separate police force and assist the legitimate government in establishing an environment conducive to the holding of free and fair elections, to be monitored by UN and OAS; decides to increase the troop level of UNMIH to 6,000 and establishes the objective of completing UNMIH's mission not later than Feb. 1996; demands that no acts of intimidation or violence be directed against personnel engaged in humanitarian or Peacekeeping work; affirms that the Council will review the measures imposed with a view to lifting them in their entirety, immediately following the return to Haiti of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
