Résumé
Welcomes the fact that both 2nd rounds of the elections took place under appropriate conditions in terms of freedom, competitiveness and security; calls upon all concerned to cooperate fully with the Secretary-General's Special Represenatative and ONUSAL in their task of verifying implementation by the parties of their commitments; urges the Government of El Salvador and the FMLN to comply with the "Agreement on a timetable for the implementation of the most important agreements pending"; requests the Secretary-General to keep the Security Council informed, on progress made on the implementation of the above-mentioned Agreement, and to report by 31 Aug. 1994 on compliance with its timetable and on other relevant issues including measures undertaken to contain the costs of ONUSAL; stresses the need to ensure that the police and public security provisions of the Peace Accords are scrupulously observed, in particular the completion of the demobilization of the National Police, as well as the enhancement of the civilian character of the National Civil Police; urges all concerned to remove all obstacles facing implementation of all aspects of the land transfer programmes; stresses the need to accelerate reintegration programmes for ex-combatants of both sides; reaffirms the need for full and timely implementation of the recommendations of the Commission on the Truth; urges all States, as well as the international institutions engaged in the fields of development and finance, to contribute promptly and generously in support of the implementation of all aspects of the Peace Accords.
