Administrative and budgetary aspects of the financing of the United Nations peace-keeping operations : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly.

Welcomes with great satisfaction the voluntary decision made by the Government of Portugal to reclassify Portugal from group C to group B; decides, as an ad hoc arrangement, to note the voluntary decision made by the Government of Portugal and to place Portugal among the Member States referred to in paragraph 3 (b) of its resolution 43/232 of 1 Mar. 1989 and, in accordance with that decision, to apportion its share of the costs of peace-keeping operations financed through assessed contributions on the basis of the proportion determined by the scale of assessments in the following manner: 35 per cent beginning 1 July 1995, 50 per cent in 1996, 70 per cent in 1997, 85 per cent in 1998 and 100 per cent in 1999 and subsequent years; also decides to consider the request of Belarus for reclassification from group B to group C at its resumed 49th session, and to take action thereon no later than at its 50th session.
