Takes note of the report of the Preparatory Committee for the World Summit for Social Development on its organizational session; calls upon all States, in accordance with para. 8 of General Assembly resolution 47/92, to appoint personal representatives of the Heads of State and Governments or other appropriate high-level representatives to participate in the 1st session of the Preparatory Committee; invites all States to contribute to the voluntary Trust Fund established for additional activities particularly the participation of the Least Developed Countries in the Summit and its preparatory process; calls upon the Secretary-General to report to the Preparatory Committee at its 1st session on implementation of the programme of public information for the World Summit for Social Development; invites the organs, organizations and programmes of the UN system and other intergovernmental organizations to inform the Preparatory Committee at its 1st session about their contributions to the Summit and its preparatory process.
