Summary
Decides, at this stage, to appropriate an amount of US$85 million net to meet the additional requirements of the Transitional Authority for the period from 1 May to 31 July 1993 and for the continued operation of the Transitional Authority from 1 Aug. 1993 to the end of its mandate, in accordance with Security Council resolution 860 (1993) of 27 Aug. 1993, in addition to the total amount of $1,397,191,600 gross ($1,376,845,400 net) already appropriated for the Advance Mission and the Transitional Authority, inclusive of the amount of $236 million authorized and apportioned with the prior concurrence of the Advisory Committee under the terms of paragraph 7 of General Assembly resolution 47/209 of 22 Dec. 1992 for the period from 1 May to 31 July 1993; decides also, as an ad hoc arrangement, to apportion the amount of $85 million net, for the period from 1 May 1993 to the end of its mandate among Member States; decides that the disposition of the property of UNTAC shall proceed on the basis of the principle that the equipment of UNTAC should, wherever possible and cost-effective, be transferred to other missions; requests the Secretary-General to submit revised cost estimates related to the liquidation of the Transitional Authority, scheduled to start on 1 Sept. 1993; authorizes the Secretary-General to enter into commitments of up to $100 million to meet the costs associated with the initial liquidation of the Transitional Authority over the period from 1 Sept. to 31 Dec. 1993.
