Refers to letter of 26 Feb. 1993 (S/22279) concerning establishment of offices in the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq for the execution of the tasks entrusted to the Secretary-General by Security Council resolution 598 (1987), and states that in the interest of economy, the offices were phased out in early 1993 and proposes that in future the Permanent Missions of Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq be used as channels of communications between the Governments of those countries and the Secretariat for matters related to resolution 598 (1993).
