Summary
Approves the Naples Political Declaration and Global Action Plan against Organized Transnational Crime and urges States to implement them as a matter of urgency; urges all entities of the UN system, including the regional commissions and the specialized agencies, and the relevant intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations to extend to the UN crime prevention and criminal justice programme their full support in the fulfilment of its tasks; invites Governments to contribute to the UN Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Fund in order to enable the programme to respond to the most urgent needs of States in the field of the prevention and control of organized transnational crime; resolves to take decisions at its 50th session on the allocation of adequate resources to the UN crime prevention and criminal justice programme on the basis of proposals for the modification of the programme to be submitted by the Secretary-General, taking into account the responsibilities entrusted to UN pursuant to the Naples Political Declaration and Global Action Plan against Organized Transnational Crime.
