Financing of the United Nations Operation in Somalia : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly.

Urges all Member States to ensure payment of their assessed contributions to UNOSOM II promptly and in full; decides to continue to use the Special Account for UNOSOM established in accordance with General Assembly resolution 47/41 A; decides as an exceptional measure to appropriate to the Special Account an amount of US$300 million for UNOSOM for the period from 1 May to 30 June 1993; decides to take into account the amount appropriated above against the full assessments to be levied on Member States upon the approval of the total cost estimates of UNOSOM II; decides as an ad hoc arrangement, to assess the amount of 300 million dollars for the period from 1 May to 30 June and to apportion that amount among Member States; decides that there shall be set off against the apportionment among Member States their respective share in the Tax Equalization Fund of the estimated staff assessment income for the period from 1 May to 31 Oct. 1993 in the context of detailed budget estimates to be submitted not later than 15 June 1993; decides to establish the contributions of the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia to UNOSOM II in accordance with rates of assessment to be adopted by the General Assembly for those Member States at its 48th session; requests the Secretary-General to submit as soon as possible but not later than 15 June 1993 detailed cost estimates for UNOSOM II for the entire mandate period through 31 Oct. 1993; invites voluntary contributions to UNOSOM II in cash and services and supplies acceptable to the Secretary-General.
