Strongly condemns the unprovoked armed attacks against personnel of ONUSOM II on 5 June 1993; expresses condolences to the people of Pakistan and families of ONUSOM II personnel who lost their lives; emphasizes the importance of early implementation of disarmament of all Somali parties and of neutralizing radio broadcasting systems that contribute to violence directed against ONUSOM II; demands that all parties comply fully with commitments they have undertaken at the informal Preparatory Meeting on Somali Political Reconciliation in Addis Ababa; affirms that the Secretary-General is authorized under resolution 814 (1993) to take all necessary measures against those responsible for the armed attacks, to establish authority of ONUSOM II throughout Somalia; requests the Secretary-General urgently to inquire into the incident; encourages rapid deployment of all ONUSOM II contingents to meet the full requirements as indicated in the Secretary-General's report (S/25354); urges Member States to contribute, on an emergency basis, military support and transportation; requests the Secretary-General to submit a report to the Council on implementation of this resolution within 7 days from the date of adoption.
