The Morning Dialogues are informal discussions between Permanent Representatives to the UN on specific topics of concern. Each gathering is limited to 20 individuals, with all 193 Member States being involved in the course of the 72nd UNGA session. Two Dialogues are held each month, and they take place under Chatham House rules, with ambassadors participating in their personal capacities. Announcing the Dialogues, Lajcak expressed hope that they will “provide a platform for us to truly listen to each other and exchange views in a frank and constructive way”.
