Summary
Endorses the views of the Commission concerning the impact on the UN common system of resolution R. 1024 of the Administrative Council of the International Telecommunication Union with respect to the payment of the special post allowance; urges the governing bodies and the executive heads of all organizations to ensure that the International Civil Service Commission is invited in its own right to be represented at meeting where proposals pertaining to salaries, allowance, benefits and other conditions of employment are to be discussed; regrets the suspension of the participation of the staff bodies in the work of the Commission and urges the resumption of the dialogue between the International Civil Service Commission and the staff bodies; concurs with the arrangements proposed for dealing exceptionally with the base/floor salary scale on a annual basis and other urgent salary matters on a timely basis; takes note of the Commission's study of the methodology for determining the cost-of-living differential between New York and Washington, D.C., in the context of net remuneration margin calculations; requests the Commission to take into account the views expressed by the Member States on the completion of the above study and to submit a report on the application of the methodology to the General Assembly; approves, with effect from 1 Mar. 1993, the revised scale of gross and net salaries for staff in the Professional and higher categories and the consequential amendments to the Staff Regulations of UN of the present resolution;.
