Summary
Adopts the Secretary-General's proposed revisions to the medium-term plan for the period 1992-1997 as amended by the recommendations of the 2nd Committee, the Committee for Programme and Coordination and the Committee on Conferences; endorses the recommendation of the Committee for Programme and Coordination that a prototype of a possible new format of the medium-term plan should be presented to the Committee at its 33rd session; decides that the prototype should take into account the relevant conclusions of the seminar on the prototype of a new budget document and address, in particular, issues concerning the manageability of the drafting and revision process; endorses the conclusions and recommendations of the Committee for Programme and Coordination on the report of the Secretary-General on the programme performance of UN for the biennium 1990-1991; endorses the conclusions and recommendations of the Committee for Programme and Coordination and urges the Secretary-General to improve the methodology for self-evaluation; endorses the recommendations of the Committee for Programme and Coordination on the report of the Secretary-General on the System-wide Plan of Action for African Economic Recovery and Development and invites the Secretary-General; endorses the recommendations of the Committee for Programme and Coordination and invites the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its 48th session on the establishment of responsibility and accountability of programme managers of UN.
