Summary
Expresses its appreciation to the Secretary-General for his report and for his endeavours to mobilize assistance; commends the Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs for his coordination of system-wide assistance; calls upon Member States and international and regional organizations to provide financial and technical assistance; calls upon all organizations and programmes of the UN system to intensify their assistance in response to the urgent needs of Lebanon and to take the necessary steps to ensure that their offices in Beirut are adequately staffed; invites the Secretary-General to intensify his efforts to mobilize all possible assistance to Lebanon.
