Summary
Urges the UN International Drug Control Programme to give special emphasis to the implementation of those issues from the Global Programme of Action identified as priorities by the Commission on Narcotic Drugs in its resolution 2 (XXXIV); calls upon the Secretary-General to take, as a matter of urgency, all necessary measures to complete the organizational and administrative structure of the UN International Drug Control Programme; requests the Executive Director of the UN INternational Drug Control Programme to coordinate and provide effective leadership for all UN drug control activities; strongly urges all Governments to provide the fullest possible financial and political support to the UN International Drug Control Programme, in particular by increasing the voluntary contributions to the Programme with a view to expanding and strengthening its operational activities and technical cooperation, in particular with developing countries.
