Calls on States to take all steps to promote and implement the Global Programme of Action; calls on all relevant UN agencies, to establish agency-specific plans to incorporate into their programmes all mandates and activities contained in the System-Wide Action Plan on Drug Abuse Control, and to submit a report to the Secretary-General by 1 Mar. 1993 on progress made in establishing such plans; calls on the governing bodies of all UN agencies associated with the System-Wide Action Plan to facilitate its implementation by designating an agenda item under which the Plan may be considered at their next regular meeting; requests ACC to give due attention to the coordination of drug control activities and, under the direction of the Executive Director of the UN International Drug Control Programme, to update the System-Wide Action Plan for consideration by the Economic and Social Council at its substantive session of 1993 and by the General Assembly at its 48th session; requests ACC to review and update the System-Wide Action Plan on a biennial basis; requests the Commission on Narcotic Drugs to monitor the implementation of the Global Programme of Action; requests the Secretary-General to report annually to the General Assembly on activities undertaken by the UN International Drug Control Programme and Governments to implement the Global Programme of Action.
