Summary
Reaffirms the importance of the right to development for all countries, in particular the developing countries; requests the Secretary-General to submit to the Commission on Human Rights at its 49th session concrete proposals on the effective implementation and promotion of the Declaration on the Right to Development; requests the Office of the Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Development and the Centre for Human Rights to continue coordination of activities with regard to the implementation of the Declaration; requests the Secretary-General to inform the Commission on Human Rights at its 49th session and the General Assembly at its 48th session of the activities of the UN system on the implementation of the Declaration; calls upon the Commission on Human Rights to continue to make proposals on the future course of action on the question.
