Security Council resolution 762 (1992) [on implementation of the United Nations peace-keeping plan in Yugoslavia]

Approves the report of the Secretary-General of 26 June 1992; urges all parties and others concerned to honour their commitments to effect a complete cessation of hostilities and to implement the UN Peacekeeping plan; urges the Government of Croatia to withdraw its army to the positions held before the offensive of 21 June 1992 and to cease hostile military activities within or adjacent to the UN Protected Areas; urges the remaining units of the Yugoslav People's Army, the Serb territorial defence forces in Croatia and others concerned to comply strictly with their obligations under the UN Peacekeeping plan; recommends the establishment of the Joint Commission described in paragraph 16 of the Secretary-General's report; authorizes the strengthening of the UNPROFOR by the addition of up to 60 military observers and 120 civilian police to perform the functions envisaged in paragraph 16 of the Secretary-General's report; encourages the Secretary-General to pursue his efforts to fulfil as soon as possible the terms of paragraph 12 of resolution 752 (1992); calls upon all parties concerned to cooperate fully with the Conference on Yugoslavia and its aim of reaching a political settlement consistent with the principles of the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe and reaffirms that the UN Peacekeeping plan and its implementation is in no way intended to prejudge the terms of a political settlement.
