Noting the concern of the States members of the Commission about the serious shortage of the human resources that are a basic necessity if it is to carry out its mandated programme of activities, especially since the Commission, in adopting its budget, has already undertaken to cancel 30 subprogrammes because of the lack of financial and human resources, requests the Secretary-General to take all necessary measures to enable ESCWA to meet its personnel requirements as authorized by the General Assembly in its resolution 39/243.
