Assistance for the reconstruction and development of Lebanon : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly.

Calls upon Member States and international and regional organizations to provide financial and technical assistance to Lebanon and to give it priority in their programmes of assistance for reconstruction whenever possible, calls upon all organizations and programmes of the UN system to expand their assistance in response to the pressing needs of Lebanon and to take the necessary steps to ensure that their offices in Beirut are adequately staffed at the senior level; invites the Secretary-General: (a) to intensify his efforts to mobilize all possible assistance to Lebanon; (b) to consider favourably the nomination of a resident coordinator in Beirut to coordinate all UN programmes of assistance for the reconstruction and development of Lebanon; (c) to report to the General Assembly at its 47th session on the progress made in the implementation of the present resolution.
