Adopts the UN Programme of Action for African Economic Recovery and Development 1986-1990 set forth in the annex to the present resolution; emphasizes the need to intensify economic and technical co-operation with African countries during and beyond the period of the UN Programme of Action for African Economic Recovery and Development 1986-1990; urges all Governments to take effective action for the rapid and full implementation of the Programme of Action; requests the organs, organizations and bodies of the UN system to participate fully in and support the implementation of the Programme of Action; calls upon all concerned, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, in view of their significant contribution to economic and social development in Africa, to support and contribute to the implementation of the Programme of Action; decides to conduct a review and appraisal of the implementation of the Programme of Action at its 43rd session; requests the Secretary-General to monitor the process of implementation of the Programme of Action and to report thereon to the General Assembly at its 42nd and 43rd sessions.
