Reaffirms that it is ultimately for the people of Anguilla themselves to determine their future political status; notes that, although the Territory was no longer in need of a grant from the administering Power to balance its recurrent budget for 1984, the Government of the United Kingdom agreed to provide a special grant to clear the deficit accumulated between 1977 and 1983; calls upon the administering Power to continue to facilitate the participation of Anguilla in ECLAC; requests the Special Committee of 24 to continue the examination of this question at its next session, including the possible dispatch of a further visiting mission to Anguilla.
Adopted at the 99th plenary meeting, 2 Dec. 1985. In: Resolutions and decisions adopted by the General Assembly during its 40th session, 17 September-18 December 1985, 28 April-9 May and 20 June 1986. - A/40/53. - 1986. - p. 266-267. - (GAOR, 40th sess., Suppl. no. 53).
