Summary
Stresses the need for effective and improved co-ordination in the UN System and calls upon all concerned to observe more vigorously their esponsibilities in this regard; requests the Secretary-General to submit to the General Assembly at its 42nd session, through the committee for Programme and Co-ordination and the Economic and Social Council, a comprehensive report setting out his considered views on current mechanisms and procedures, and his specific recommendations aimed at enhancing co-ordination in the future; to report orally to the Economic and Social Council at its 2nd regular session of 1986 and to submit a progress report to the General Assembly early in its 41st session.
