Summary
Endorses the recommendations contained in the report of the Interregional Preparatory Meeting of the 7th UN Congress on the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders; requests the Secretary-General and Member States to take the necessary steps to establish joint programmes in the field of juvenile justice and the prevention of juvenile delinquency with the UN Social Defence Research Institute, the UN regional institutes for the prevention of crime and the treatment of offenders, the Arab Security Studies and Training Centre at Riyadh and other national and regional institutes; calls upon the relevant UN bodies to develop standards for the prevention of juvenile delinquency.
