International Year for the World's Indigenous People : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly.

Proclaims 1993 as International Year for the Word's Indigenous People, with a view to strengthening international cooperation for the solution of problems faced by indigenous communities in areas such as human rights, the environment, development, education and health; requests the Commission on Human Rights to consider at its 47th session possible UN activities in connection with the Year; authorizes the Secretary-General to accept and administer voluntary contributions from Governments and intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations for the purpose of funding programme activities for the Year; requests the Secretary-General to submit to the General Assembly at its 46th session a draft programme of activities based on the recommendations of the Economic and Social Council and of the specialized agencies.
