Co-operation between the United Nations and the Organization of American States : resolution / adopted by the General Assembly.

Expresses its satisfaction at the close cooperation between the 2 organizations in the verification of the electoral process in Nicaragua from Aug. 1989 to Feb. 1990; recognizes the effectiveness of the cooperation between the 2 organizations with respect to the procedures established by the Central American Presidents within the context of the subregional peace process; welcomes the results of the work of the International Support and Verification Commission, established by the Secretary-General of UN and the Secretary-General of OAS; recognizes the importance of the participation of the International Support and Verification Commission in the demobilization of the irregular forces of the Nicaraguan resistance; welcomes the participation of OAS in the Support Committee and the Policies and Projects Committee of the Special Plan of Economic Cooperation for Central America, established by the General Assembly resolution 42/231 of 12 May 1988; takes note of the agreement of 6 Apr. 1989 between the 2 organizations on the implementation of resolution 43/4, and of the consultations held at UN Headquarters on 14 Feb. 1990.
